How Swansen's Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Expertly Cleans Carpets

SUPERIOR 5-STAGE CLEANING METHOD!

A Supreme Clean at Every Stage
VACUUUM

This is the initial step in carpet cleaning and involves removing loose dirt, dust, and debris from the surface of the carpet. Vacuuming helps to ensure that larger particles are removed before deeper cleaning processes begin. It also helps in improving the effectiveness of subsequent cleaning stages by eliminating surface contaminants.

PRE-SPRAY

Swansen’s pressprays a safe cleaning solution or detergent to the carpet fibers. This solution is specifically formulated to loosen dirt, stains, and grime that are embedded within the carpet fibers. Pre-spraying allows the cleaning agent to penetrate deep into the carpet pile and break down stubborn stains and soils, making them easier to remove during the extraction process.

AGITATE

Agitation is the process of mechanically loosening dirt, debris, and stains from the carpet fibers after the pre-spray has been applied. This is typically done using rotary machine. Agitation helps to further break down stubborn dirt and stains and ensures that the cleaning solution is evenly distributed throughout the carpet fibers. It also helps to lift the carpet pile, allowing for better extraction of dirt and moisture during the rinsing stage.

RINSE & EXTRACTION

In this stage, truck extraction used to thoroughly rinse the carpet and extract the loosened dirt, debris, and cleaning solution. The process injects hot water and cleaning solution into the carpet fibers under high pressure and then immediately extract it along with the dissolved dirt and grime, effectively removing contaminants from deep within the carpet pile.

GROOMING

Grooming is the final stage of the carpet cleaning process and involves using a carpet rake or brush to reset the carpet pile and remove any remaining cleaning solution residue. Grooming helps to restore the carpet’s appearance, enhances its texture, and promotes even drying. It also aids in the removal of any remaining debris or loose fibers, leaving the carpet looking clean, revitalized, and uniform in appearance.

How To Select a Professional Carpet Cleaner
No Misinformation, Pressure or Scare Tactics

Swansen’s Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning in Bellingham, WA will not participate in bait and switch tactics or misinform you about wet or dry cleaning processes. We will always follow methods recommended by industry standards. Don’t buy the scare tactics of companies promoting an inferior dry cleaning system. You already have dry carpets. The benefit of rinsing the carpets thoroughly is a better quality clean, and that’s the Swansen’s difference.

Bait-and-switch operators are prevalent in many industries, and the carpet cleaning industry is no exception. This does not mean that all carpet cleaners are rip-off artists. How do you know who is and who is not legitimate? To help educate consumers so they will not become victims of fraudulent practices, the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has released a list of guidelines to consider when selecting a carpet cleaner.

Price:

If an advertised price sounds too good to be true — it is! Use common sense: a low price usually equates to low quality. A professional carpet cleaner who must cover all his business expenses and make a profit to stay in business cannot afford to drive to your house for $20 a room, much less clean a room of carpet when there.

Avoid those cleaners who put unrealistic restrictions on room sizes and load offers with fine print. Swansen’s offers will not!

Quality:

Never should the price of cleaning service be the sole criterion for selecting a carpet cleaner. A price that sounds high might be indicative of quality work, not a rip-off.

Training:

Professional cleaning firms require management and employees to engage in formal training in a variety of cleaning disciplines, and these educational efforts will be ongoing. Consumers should ask about the training background of technicians.

Knowledge:

Professional firms employ and train technicians who have the ability to answer basic questions regarding carpet performance and maintenance, as well as spotting and cleaning.

Experience:

The years of experience a firm has, combined with formal training programs, contribute significantly to the experience and proficiency of its employees.

Certification:

Professional firms require certification of technicians through such organizations as the IICRC or comparable franchise or independent training organizations.

Trade Associations:

Professional cleaning firms are members of regional or national trade associations or other organizations that promote high ethical standards and continuing education.

Community Involvement:

Community involvement through the Chamber of Commerce and/or professional business, charitable, or similar organizations will be undertaken by concerned, caring professionals.

Method:

Ask the cleaner which method of cleaning will be used and the advantages and disadvantages of this method as compared to other methods.

Cleaning Standard:

Ask if the cleaner is operating according to the IICRC S-001 Cleaning Standards.

No Pressure:

Technicians must be courteous and willing to take the time to thoroughly explain the cleaning and answer all questions. The consumer should never feel pressured.

Truth in Advertising:

Read the fine print in advertised specials to find out exactly what the price includes, and request a firm price in writing before the work begins.

References:

Consumers should ask for references from previous customers, and they should not hesitate to call the Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau.

Proof:

Never hesitate to ask for proof. Ask to see the cleaner’s certification card, business license, and insurance certificate.
